Bobi Wine Addresses People Power Supporters From Luzira

Kampala: Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine may be jailed but not cowed.

The singer cum politician, who is currently in Luzira prison, where he was remanded last week for allegedly staging illegal Social Media tax protests, today addressed his People Power supporters, shortly after his bail application hearing, which was done through teleconferencing. Bobi Wine, who looks visibly disturbed following the days she has spent in prison, said thus;

“Your honor, I thank you for the opportunity to speak under these abnormal circumstances. I want to emphasize that it is not me on trial. It is the court itself on trial. Whatever you decide in that court, your honor, THAT IS NOT MY BUSINESS. My business is standing for the truth. My business is standing for what is morally right. My business is standing for what morally beneficial to you, to me, to those people who are persecuting me under the guise of prosecuting me, and all the people of Uganda. Your honor, if standing for what is right will earn me my freedom, I will thank God for it. But your honor, if standing for what is right is going to keep me in this prison, then I will thank God even louder. After all, I have a lot of work to do, even here in prison.”

However, the latest news coming in indicates that Bobi Wine has been granted cash Shs1,000,000 bail and each of his sureties bonded Shs10,000,000 non cash each. The case has been adjourned until May 23rd, 2019.
