Wakiso: Popular soccer team Wakiso Giants have this morning happily unveiled a 62 sitter bus said to have been donated by the Club’s ambassador and musician Joseph  Mayanja aka Jose Chameleone.

While delivering his speech, Chameleone  said that  the 62 sitter bus is a donation from a friend he met in London, UK and shared ideas with. “I met this friend of mine in London where we shared different ideas and he even told me he loves African music. But we later parted ways. So he did some research about me. He saw many pictures of me dressed on the Wakiso Giants jersey and asked me about the Club. I told him it’s the one I support back home so he picked interest.” Chameleone added that “He also asked about my dreams and what I would love to achieve but like you all know me, I couldn’t say money, since it’s not my problem. He asked me how he would make an impact in my life, saying whatever I told  him he would  give to Wakiso Giants. He even invited me to his home. He is a very rich man who owns like 40 of these buses. He showed me and said ‘One bus is for Wakiso Giants.’ I was very happy. I came back home and told  the Club’s CEO Musa Atagenda about everything. We organised and shipped the bus into Uganda ourselves.”

The function was also attended by FUFA president Moses Magogo and Hassan Lule, the Chairperson LC5 Wakiso district among others. Magogo thanked the Club for having performed well over the last season and for the good work done to ensure that Wakisha stadium meets the required standards to host Uganda league games. ”I have also been invited to this event to look at works going on the proposed stadium and the people in FUFA who are technically qualified in Club licensing will also come and plan evaluation. But from my point of view, whatever is missing can easily be done. The chairperson LC5 promised to give full support where he can to the Club. “I had everything in Wakiso except a football club, and now that it’s here I will work hand in hand with the management to ensure its growth and as for the pitch, I will do everything to have it leveled to FUFA standards, since I have all it takes like the engineers and equipment, I pledge my full support to the team,”  Lule said. Wakiso Giants was the first team to be promoted to the Startimes Uganda Premier League, having led the Elgon group of the big league with 41 points
