Museveni, Kagame Sign MOU To Foster Security, Regional Cooperation

Presidents Paul Kagame of Rwanda, and Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, of Uganda, on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at fostering Security and Regional Corporation within the East African region.

The MOU was signed following a quadripartite summit held on Wednesday  in Luanda, Angola, which was hosted by Angolan president Joao Manuel Lourenco  and attended by DR Congo President Felix Tshisekedi. The MOU signing was also witnessed by President Sassou Nguesso of the Republic of Congo.

While commenting about the developments reached upon by the two heads of state, president Kagame noted that;

 “I want to start by thanking President Lourenço and President Tshisekedi for the work & wise council they put into this process of bringing us together, President Museveni of Uganda and myself, to resolve any problems that have been existing between our two countries.”

The MOU is aimed at solving the diplomatic tension between Uganda and Rwanda, which saw the latter close her borders at Katuna and Kyanika several months ago.
