Mathias Ssekamate, a Human Resources Officer at KCCA was attacked by the goons as he walked along Nakasero Road last week. They brutally assaulted him and left him lying in a pool of blood, before fleeing with his wallet, phones and other valuables. However, latest update is that the police have arrested two of the goons who were part of the attack. The two were arrested by detectives at Nakasero Police Station, after being filmed on Closed Circuit Television  (CCTV) security cameras assaulting Ssekamate. Deputy Kampala Metropolitan police spokesman, Luke Owoyesigyire, identified the suspects as Japhali Kadaida and Ashraf Matovu alias Steve.

Owoyesigyire said that “The suspects were captured by CCTV hitting Ssekamate with a huge stone. The thugs robbed him of his valuables among others a phone and wallet containing money.” He added that  “We have detained Kadaida and Matovu at CPS (Kampala Central Police Station) and we are going to charge them with robbery and assault.” Police said the duo’s file has been sent to Resident State Attorney (RSA) for perusal and legal advice.
