Police Summons Bobi Wine For Inciting Violence

The Uganda Police, under the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, have summoned the Kyadondo east Member of parliament Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi wine to their head office in Kibuli, on allegations of inciting violence and conducting unlawful assembly on 22/04/2019.

According to summons issued by police to Bobi Wine and copied to the office of the Speaker,  inquiries on Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi are being conducted on grounds that on 22/04/2019, he was allegedly involved in inciting violence and conducting unlawful assembly in defiance of the inspector general of police guidelines during the preparation of Kyalenga extra concert in Busabala.

Thus therefore, in pursuance of the provision of section 27A of the Police Act, he is required to report to Acting Commissioner in charge of Electoral and political crimes at Kibuli on 26/04/2019. However, the summons came at a time when Bobi Wine, who had been under house arrest, had escaped from police and military deployed at his home. Bobi Wine shocked the nation when he mysteriously disappeared from his home today, only to surface in Bugiri district, where he had gone to attend the burial of late Hajji Siraj Samanya Lyavaala, a staunch People Power supporter who passed away a few days ago.
