In a condolence message issued on Monday, Founding Speaker and Chairman Andrew Irumba Katusabe extended heartfelt sympathies to Nakimuli’s family, constituents, and the nation. “We extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family, the people of Kalangala District, and the entire nation upon this untimely loss,” he said.

Nakimuli, a pioneer member of the Pan-African Pyramid since its formation in 2014, was remembered as a dedicated leader whose life was defined by service, empathy, and an unwavering commitment to justice. “Her unwavering commitment to humanity, justice, and the dignity of the African people defined her service both within and beyond public office,” Irumba noted.

According to the organisation, she played a key role in advancing humanitarian efforts, often working quietly behind the scenes to support vulnerable communities. “She stood as a quiet yet powerful force, consistently offering compassion and guidance to those most in need,” the statement read.
Irumba highlighted her deep compassion, recalling emotional moments during visits to refugee settlements in Bidi Bidi and Nakivale. “She broke down upon seeing the suffering of young girls in the camps. That moment captured the essence of who she truly was, a leader with a profoundly soft heart,” he said.

PAP described her as more than a politician. “Hon. Helen was not a politician; she was a true Pan-Africanist who spoke truth to power and stood firmly for justice, equity, and transformation,” Irumba emphasized.

Her death, the organisation noted, is not only a loss to her constituents and the nation but also a significant blow to the global Pan-African agenda. “We grieve with the family, the country, and all those whose lives were touched by her kindness, courage, and vision,” he added.
As tributes continue to pour in, PAP urged Africans to honour her memory by embracing unity and action. “As we come to terms with this painful loss, we take solace in the legacy she leaves behind, a legacy of compassion, service, and unwavering commitment to humanity,” Irumba said.
