AIGP Asan Kasingye Hands Over Officer To His Deputy As Contract Expires

By Spy Uganda

The latest landing on our desk indicates that the Assistant Inspector of Police (AIGP) Asan Kasingye has handed over office to his deputy ACP Hillary Kulayige ahead of the end of his contract that is officially expiring tomorrow.

Few months back we unearthed how HE.Yoweri Kaguta Museveni refused to renew contracts of eight top directors in Police among them including; AIGP Asan Kasingye Chief political commissar and AIGP Edward Ochom Director Operations.

Others include; AIGP Erasmus Twaruhukwa Director Legal, AIGP Andrew Sorowen Director Welfare, AIGP Abass Byakagaba Director Counter Terrorism, AIGP John Ndugutse an Attach in Nairobi, AIGP Haruna Isabirye an Attach in USA and AIGP Joseph Mugisha director Fire and Rescue Services.

Source then revealed to us that contracts of the above Directors had expired two years ago but they ‘knelled’ to the President for more time promising him that they would this time serve to his satisfaction.

“After 2021 elections, the directors through Internal Affairs Minister requested President Museveni to renew their contracts by more two years such that they can serve until 2023 which he went mute about till this week when he sent back their files to internal affairs minister without any positive comment. The above has since left the eight officers preparing their exit gates since their chances of being re-considered have gone to zero degrees,” said a source then.

Now, just like any professional officer, Kasingye could not just quit without officially saying bye bye to wanainchi, below is his message;

”IGP sir, DIGP, CJS, Directors, US.

Today, I have handed over office with guidance from IGP, to my deputy ACP Hillary Kulaige following expiry of my contract.

I want to thank you so much for you cooperation, advice, mentoring and guidance I have received during the course of my duty to country and people.

I promise to remain disciplined and accountable to each and everything I do while in the community. Will at all cost advance the good image of the police. The institution is bigger than me and will always defend it wherever I am and whatever vocation I hold.

I will be at my home in Entebbe and available to you for whatever issue I may be helpful about.

Police is and will remain a family to me and my family. Will always be proud to associate with it.

Will be glad to rejoin you should my contract get extended.

May God bless you.
For God And My Country.”
