There was panic among legislators when the Speaker of the 11th Parliament Hon Anita Among shocked them that she is being badly followed up by assassins who intend to end her life.

During the Parliamentary sitting on Thursday, the speaker told the house that she is being followed for several days.

”There is a report on an attempt to assassinate me, up to now I am still being followed,” Anita told MPs who looked very shocked and panicky before she added; ”Whoever wants to assassinate Anita, let me inform you that I was put in this chair by God and I will serve until I get tired.” Speaker of Parliament Anita Among tells the House.”

Among’s outcry can’t be taken for granted in a country like Uganda where a couple of top army and government officials have been assassinated after similar threats; below is a list of top officials whose lives have since been ended by ruthless gunmen.

His assassins were riding on motorbikes when they opened multiple rounds of fire on Kaweesi’s car killing his bodyguard and driver too.
