Amidst COVID-19 Pandemic, NRM CEC Passes 2021 Electoral Road Map, Voters To Line Behind Candidates

Kampala: The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Central Executive Committee (CEC) sitting at State House Entebbe yesterday approved the 2021 party electoral road map and agreed on the mode of elections where by party flag bearers will be  lined up behind by the voters.

According to the NRM’s Director of Information and Communications, Mr Emmanuel Dombo, yesterdays meeting was mainly scheduled to approve the election roadmap since there was need to find ways of how to vote under government’s COVID-19 guidelines.

According to the Roadmap seen by TheSpy Uganda, elections of special interest groups will begin with resignation of public servants who wish to represent SIGs to local government on November 4, 2020 to November 6, 2020.

Additionally, nomination of the presidential candidates for presidential elections will be on November 2, 2020 to November 3, 2020.

On November 4,2020 there will be capturing of presidential nomination returns and preparation returns and preparation of ballot paper samples at Electoral Commission headquarters.

While election for MPs will take place on 7th September 2020, the LC 5 Chairpersons, Councilors, Municipal Mayors and Division Mayors, LC3 chairpersons and their councilors will be on 28th August 2020.
