The Head of the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, Brig Gen Henry Isoke, today led staff of the State House Anti-Corruption Unit in receiving running kits ahead of the 13th edition of the Kabaka Birthday Run.

The run is scheduled for April 12, 2026, and is expected to attract over 120,000 participants as part of celebrations to mark the 71st birthday of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II. Organized under the Buganda Kingdom, the event will be held under the theme: “Men for Good Health to Save the Girl Child.” It is part of ongoing efforts to combat HIV/AIDS, with a broader goal of ending the epidemic by 2030.

This year’s run, powered by Airtel Uganda, will start at Bulange, Mengo, and aims to promote community health and awareness. Participation kits are currently available at a cost of 25,000 Ugandan shillings.

Brig Gen Isoke commended the Kabaka and the people of Buganda for their unwavering support toward government health initiatives. He noted that collaborative efforts through the Ministry of Health Uganda and the Uganda AIDS Commission are making a lasting impact in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

“The continued partnership between cultural institutions and government agencies is critical in addressing public health challenges and safeguarding vulnerable populations,” he said.

He also called upon all Ugandans to stand firm against corruption, emphasizing the importance of accountability and quality service delivery in protecting vulnerable communities.

“Corruption undermines access to essential services and exposes at-risk populations to greater harm. We must reject such practices and work collectively to build a transparent society,” he added.

Brig Gen Isoke further appreciated the partnerships the Unit has built with BBS Terefayina, Buganda Land Board, and the Buganda Kingdom at large in serving wananchi.

As preparations for the run gather pace, the Anti-Corruption Unit joined other well-wishers in extending birthday wishes to the Kabaka on his 71st birthday.
