Nsambya: Two armed robbers on Saturday evening attacked FDC presidential contender Dr. Kizza Besigye’s fuel station in Nsambya, where one of them was shot dead.
Eyewitnesses revealed to SpyUganda that gunfire exchange erupted at Total Petrol station after security at the fuel station alerted the police and tried to intercept the armed robbers. The facility proprietor Dr. Kizza Besigye said that “A man came and parked car besides the pump, and alerted the station staff who were on duty that something was going to happen, but requested them to remain calm, He then went back to the vehicle. However they didn’t know what he was all about. A little while later, another vehicle came to the Pump, parked and asked for fuel worth Shs20,000, which they paid. But as they were trying to refuel that vehicle, men emerged from the vehicle that had parked before, with guns, dressed on plain clothes and attacked those who had just parked at pump, shooting one dead inside the vehicle. The other one jumped out and tried to run but was also promptly shot.”
He added that “Later on, they took the bodies away.”
