Beauty Queen Leah Kagasa Set to Hand Over Miss Uganda Crown

After one year’s break, Miss Uganda beauty pageant is back on the scenes following failure by organizers to conduct Miss Uganda contest for 2017/2018.

A beauty pageant or beauty contest is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants, although most contests have evolved to also incorporate personality traits, intelligence, talent, and answers to judges’ questions as judged criteria. It almost invariably referred only to contests for unmarried women such as Leah Kagasa, Stella Nantume, and many more.

Whereas similar events or competition for men or boys being called by other names and more likely to be bodybuilding contests.

Tooro’s Leah Kagasa is now set to handover the Miss Uganda crown after serving for two consecutive years.

Kagasa told our reporter that that she is ready to hand over the Crown to some other suitable candidate and she is ready to support her in any way. The event is scheduled August 10th 2018.

Miss Uganda was started in 1967 and has participated at the Miss World since that year. The pageant is running on Ministry of Agriculture directorship which sets to choose the next Miss Uganda basing on agriculture and this is intended to interest the young people into the sector.

We would like to remind you that in 2014, General Salim Saleh publicly announced collaboration between the Miss Uganda Foundation, the organizers of the annual contest and the Wealth Creation program that he heads.

“We are almost signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Miss Uganda Foundation because we want to choose the next Miss Uganda basing on agriculture and this is intended to interest the young people into the sector,” General Saleh said
