Bobi Wine’s Body Guard Wasn’t Knocked By Military Police Vehicle-UPDF’s Byekwaso

Kampala: On Sunday 27 December 2020, Frank Ssenteza, a personal bodyguard of presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine was allegedly knocked by a military police patrol vehicle in Busega a Kampala suburb, and later died at Rubaga hospital.

National Unity Platform (NUP) said, “Ssenteza was deliberately knocked dead in Busega by a military vehicle as we drove from Masaka to Kampala to get further treatment for Kasirye Ashraf who was earlier injured in a fracas with police in Masaka.”

However, the Uganda People Defense forces (UPDF) spokesperson Brigadier Flavia Byekwaso has dismissed the allegations saying that Ssenteza fell off a speeding car which he was trying to jump on.

Earlier, online Ghetto TV cameraman, Ashraf Kasirye, and other journalists including Ali Mivule Of NTV and NBS”s Daniel Lutaaya were injured during the scuffle in Masaka.

Police, later on, issued a statement saying its task team in Greater Masaka had violent confrontations with the NUP candidate and his supporters at a checkpoint in Kyabakuza after they defied the route plan agreed upon to Kyotera District.

“Tear gas was used to quell the violence and journalists were regrettably caught up during the process of dispersing the violent group. Notably among them was a Ghetto TV crew member identified as Ashraf Kasirye, who sustained blunt force injuries above the left eye allegedly from a canister,” police spokesperson Fred Enanga said.

“The victim was rushed to Masaka Referral Hospital for medical attention. He remains stable but in serious critical condition and on transfer to Kampala for better management” Enanga added.
