Ms Phoebe Namulindwa, the Luweero Resident District Commissioner (RDC) called for thorough investigations.

“NIRA offices hold vital public information. The theft of the equipment is a big loss and a setback. We should assure members of the public that their respective information including the national identity cards are safe,”Namulindwa said.

However this happens few days after NIRA had announced that their offices were now open to resume service delivery to it’s clients, after months of closure due to Covid19 lockdown.

The motive of the theft of the said equipments are still unknown. This is not the first NIRA office to be broken into and the same equipments targeted and stolen.
