Kampala– In a major boost to the Pan-African intellectual movement in Uganda, business magnate Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia has officially stepped forward as the main sponsor of the 9th Pan-African Pyramid (PAP) Global Awards and Convention 2026, marking a significant milestone for the organization after more than a decade of relentless advocacy and struggle.

The development was revealed by Andrew Irumba Katusabe, the Founding Speaker and Chairman of The Pan-African Pyramid, who announced that the Ruparelia Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Ruparelia Group, has committed to fully support this year’s prestigious Pan-African gathering.

The annual event, widely known as the PAP Global Awards, will be hosted at the luxurious Speke Resort Munyonyo on 29th August 2026, one of the flagship hospitality establishments under the Ruparelia Group.

Historic Breakthrough After Years Of Struggle
According to Irumba, the sponsorship represents the culmination of over a decade of persistent efforts by the organization to secure a formidable partner capable of supporting its Pan-African agenda.

He noted that for eleven years since the founding of the Pan-African Pyramid and eight years since the inception of the PAP Global Awards, the organization has operated largely through determination, volunteerism, and ideological commitment rather than strong financial backing.

“After 11 years of our hard existence and 8 years of PAP Global Awards, I take the honour to announce that Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, under his charity hand, Ruparelia Foundation, has sponsored this year’s PAP Global Awards. You don’t have to worry about what to feed our guests; that too has been taken care of,” Irumba reportedly announced in a message shared with members through the organization’s WhatsApp group.
Beyond providing the venue, Sudhir has also sponsored a lavish four-course gala dinner that will serve as the grand climax of the awards ceremony that will be tantalized by Reggae music and cultural dances. 🍽️

Chief Guest Role Confirmed
In an additional gesture that underscores his commitment to the initiative, Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia has accepted to attend the ceremony as the Chief Guest, where he is expected to interact with intellectuals, entrepreneurs and Pan-African thought leaders from across the globe.

The PAP Global Awards recognize individuals who have significantly contributed to the advancement of Pan-African ideals, African unity, intellectual renaissance and socio-economic transformation.
Categories typically include Pan-African revolutionary leaders, freedom fighters, scholars, renaissance thinkers, African women entrepreneurs, artists, and lifetime achievers who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to the cause of African solidarity and development.
Global Delegates Expected
This year’s edition is expected to attract an impressive lineup of international Pan-Africanists and thought leaders from countries including Jamaica, Canada, the United States, Burkina Faso, Ghana, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Kenya among others.
Organizers say the convention will not only celebrate distinguished contributors to the Pan-African cause but will also serve as a high-level intellectual forum to deliberate on Africa’s economic transformation, ideological rebirth and continental integration.
Sudhir’s Longstanding Quiet Support
Although the announcement appears monumental, insiders within the Pan-African Pyramid reveal that Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia’s relationship with the organization did not start today.
According to Irumba, the Ugandan billionaire has quietly supported PAP initiatives over the years behind the scenes, offering logistical assistance and encouragement even before formally stepping in as the headline sponsor.
His latest commitment therefore formalizes what has been a longstanding but largely discreet association with the movement.
For the organizers, the partnership with the Ruparelia Foundation signals a new era for the PAP Global Awards, potentially elevating the event into one of Africa’s most prominent intellectual and cultural platforms dedicated to advancing the ideals of Pan-Africanism.
With the backing of one of Uganda’s most influential business figures and the use of a world-class venue like Speke Resort Munyonyo, the 2026 edition of the PAP Global Awards is expected to attract unprecedented international attention and participation.
As the Pan-African Pyramid slogan boldly states: Don’t Agonize, Organize.
See you at the battlefield on August 29th, 2026. Lest I forget, dress code is strictly African Attire or PAP T-SHIRTS.
