Sad news reaching us indicates that Uganda Peoples Defence  Forces (UPDF) is mourning the untimely demise of one of their senior officers identified as Colonel Sikagi Tumusiime, who passed away on Wednesday morning.

According to our sources, Col. Skagi, as he was famously known, died of a strange terminal illness that he had battled for several years, until he breathed his last at  UMC Victoria Hospital in Ntinda, a city suburb.

Col Sikagi was one of the key commanders during the National Resistance Army war from 1981 to 1986.

After the capture of power, Col Sikagi was a battalion commander and fought the Lakwena rebellion in Eastern Uganda

Apart from being a National Resistance Army (NRA) bush war hero, Col. Sikagi is remembered for  marrying a very shrewd babe identified as Name Sikagi, who became a menace to several businessmen and women in Kampala, because of her shady dealings.

Burial arrangements will be communicated in our subsequent reports, given the fact that President Yoweri Museveni recently issued guidelines about funerals in regard to the prevention of the deadly Coronavirus.
