Charly Na Nina Cancel Ugandan Show Over Closed Rwanda Borders

By Andrew Irumba

Kampala: President Paul Kagame closed Rwanda’s borders to Uganda and the effect of the closure is now being felt not only in the movement of pysically goods, but also in the entertainment industry. This is because many Ugandan artistes who used to perform in Rwanda can no longer stage shows there just as numerous Rwandan artistes who used to perform in Uganda can no longer do so. Now word reaching us from our Spies indicate that popular Rwandan female music duo Charly Na Nina have been forced to cancel their show that was slated to happen in Kampala on Labour Day, for allegedly  ‘security reasons’. Charly Na Nina cannot cross to Uganda to perform, yet they have a huge fan base here.

The two sexy ladies are popularly known for their ‘Owooma’ hit, which they did with Ugandan singer Geosteady. They raised  temperatures in Kampala last year when they performed here, although they left several Ugandans yearning for more of them. However, unless Kagame opens Rwanda’s borders to Uganda, many Ugandans will continue missing the sexy duo.
