CID Hunts MP Simeo Nsubuga To Grill Him Over Horrific Death Threat Audio

Kampala: The Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) has instituted investigations against Kassanda North MP Simeo Nsubuga for allegedly making a life-threatening audio message.

An audio clip that has been making rounds on various social media platforms attributed to Semeo Nsubuga, threatening a person only identified as Sonko whom he allegedly accuses of persuading his coordinators to join his political rival’s camp.

According to the audio, Nsubuga is heard telling Sonko to stop contacting his campaign coordinators or else “he might not live long enough to raise his children”.

“I get reports from my constituency that you call my coordinators, mobilizers and supporters that my rival, Michael Muhumuza wants them, my brother you have a family with young children, if you want to live, get out of my issues, It is me who has told you, it is not that I sent someone, If you want to see your children growing, leave me,” Nsubuga allegedly said according to the audio,  adding “Don’t say that I didn’t tell you, this is life and death, I have told you in broad daylight.”

Nsubuga who lost to Michael Muhumuza in the NRM primaries announced that he will run on an independent ticket to retain his seat.

While addressing the media yesterday at Uganda Media Centre police spokesperson, Fred Enanga said the audio came to the attention of the Inspector General of Police Martin Okoth Ochola who immediately instructed the director of CID Grace Akullo to open up the general inquiry file surrounding the incident.

“Nsubuga issued warning threats against the life of Sonko, his children and family. The audio further indicated that the matters to do with politics are matters of life and death, these are very serious threats to life not only of Sonko but also other Ugandans,” said Enanga.
