Uganda’s efforts to strengthen its investment climate and protect investors took centre stage during a high-level engagement with a team from Forbes Africa ahead of the publication of the Uganda 2026 Report.

The meeting brought together Col. Edith Nakalema, Head of the State House Investors Protection Unit, and visiting journalists including Camila Zambrano, Savannah Tombazzi, and Ilaria dal Toso.

During the interview, Col. Nakalema highlighted Uganda’s growing appeal as a secure and competitive investment destination, noting significant strides in promoting transparency, accountability, and inclusive economic growth.

She emphasised the Unit’s role in safeguarding both local and international investors, particularly as the country prepares for its first oil production—a milestone expected to reshape Uganda’s economic landscape.

The discussions also focused on future priorities, including intensifying the fight against investment fraud, expanding public awareness on investor rights, and strengthening confidence in Uganda’s business environment.
Officials said these efforts are part of a broader strategy to position Uganda as a trusted destination for investment in the region over the next three to five years.

The upcoming report is expected to provide deeper insights into Uganda’s economic transformation journey, highlighting progress in investor protection, regulatory reforms, and opportunities emerging across key sectors.
