COVID-19: Relief As Uganda’s Daily Cases Drastically Fall From Thousands To Hundreds

Ugandans who were on panic over the deadly COVID-19 pandemic are in relief mode after daily cases falling from thousands to hundreds-according to Ministry of Health statistics.

From June 2021, Uganda has seen a sharp rise in the daily infections, but for a week now, the country has been registering COVID-19 cases ranging from 200-400 per day.

In the last 24 hours for example, Ministry of Health has only detected 254 new cases from the results of COVID-19 tests done on 18 July 2021. Meanwhile, this brings cumulative confirmed cases to 90,910.

The breakdown of the new cases are: 251 Contacts and Alerts: Kampala (104) Kabarole (13) Kumi (11) Pader (10) Mbale (8) Oyam (8) Iganga (7) Kapchorwa (7) Nakapiripirit (6) Buikwe (6) Wakiso (7) Kamuli (6) Kibuku (5) Kalaki (4) Busia (6) Nakaseke (3) Tororo (3) Nabitaluk (5).

Others are; Mbarara (3) Kasese (2) Apac (2) Mukono (2) Amuria (2) Napak (11) Kikuube (1) Kagadi (1) Butambala (1) Kabale (1) Kyotera (1) Omoro (1) Buvuma (1) Adjumani (1) Luuka (1) Kaliro (1) Masaka (1) Namayingo (1) Amuru (1) 3 Truck Drivers: Mutukula (2) Malaba (1).

Globally, as of 6:42pm CEST, 20 July 2021, there have been 190,671,330 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 4,098,758 deaths, reported to WHO. As of 20 July 2021, a total of 3,568,861,733 vaccine doses have been administered.
