Critically Ill Gen.Kayihura Flown Abroad For Specialized Treatment!

Former Inspector General of Police Gen.Edward Kale Kayihura has been permitted by general court martial to fly abroad for specialized treatment.

The army code demands that all Army officers must seek official permission from the chief of defense forces General David Muhoozi.

After the wider consultations from his superiors, the command in Chief, president Museveni  and CDF, Chairman of court martial Lt Gen.Andrew Gutti granted him permission to fly to Kenya for a special medical attention .

Kayihura was charged with aiding and abetting the kidnapping by commission, repatriating Rwandan exiles and refugees and Ugandan citizens to Rwanda between 2012 and 2016.

He was also accused of failing to protect war material by issuing arms to unauthorisedc persons including Boda Boda 2010 members led by jailed Abdallah Kitatta between 2010 and 2018.

Kayihura was confined to a two-bedroom apartment house in the Military Police Barracks at Makindye, a suburb of Kampala City for more than two months before being given bail.

His confinement led to the deterioration of his health which his lawyers of KAA requested court to get treatment due to his elderly age.
