Mitooma: Mourners in Mitooma district who had gone to attend fallen singer Michael Arinda aka Ziggy Wine on Wednesday enjoyed free drama, after Kyadondo Eat legislator Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine literally conquered Justice And Constitutional Affairs minister Gen. Kahinda Otafiire’s home area.
The drama happened
at Ziggy Wine’s burial in Kashenshero, Mitooma district, where the angry
mourners reached an extent of pulling the microphone from the deputy Resident
District Commissioner (RDC) William Kasolo, after accusing him of lying to
them.
Our Spies reveal
that shortly after Kasolo being given the microphone to address the mourners as
a government representative, some mourners started shouting at him, assuring
him not to speak. But he insisted and kept on talking. (https://www.nectarpd.com/) What made matters worse
was him saying that the police was right.
He said “I request the relatives to avoid speculations. Our son and brother wasn’t killed as a certain group of people say. Police carried out clear investigations and found that Ziggy died due to accident.”
However, Kasolo’s
words annoyed mourners, who reacted by grabbing the microphone from him, before
hurling insults at him from all directions.
The mourners were
however calmed down by Bobi Wine, who told them that Ziggy Wine had told him
that he was beaten by unknown people, who accused him of supporting People Power.
“He told me
few words. He couldn’t talk because he was in too much pain. We thought he
would be fine and tell us what exactly happened but God didn’t wish it. I call
upon Ugandans to stand firm and we fight for our country. Twebereremu!”
Bobi Wine said, before being given a
thunderous applaud.
Francis Zake Butebi,
Mityana municipality legislator, said
“The police are used
to fabricate allegations. I was once a victim of such fabrications when they
said I escaped from Mbale prison when actually I was badly off after being
beaten in Arua during the
by-election which
brought back to parliament Hon. Kasiano Wadri.”
People Power spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi told mourners that they will carry out their own investigations, because the police investigations were hoax.
After the burial,
Bobi Wine was escorted from greater Bushenyi by two police vehicles; one behind
and another one in front, all the way from Mitooma district up to Mbarara town,
where he was barred from getting out of his car until he hit the highway.
