Entebbe: Delivering his end of year message, President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has cautioned the electoral commission, saying in his capacity as head of security in the country and president, he has enough information that some electoral officials are planning to bribe votes in favor of some opposition candidates warning that whoever tries to do so will regret.

Museveni, who looked extremely annoyed revealed that he can’t and will not tolerate any form of bribery meant to overpower the will of the people, asserting that whoever tries to cheat the will of Ugandans should be ready to face toughest consequences.
“I hear some criminals are planning to cheat votes assisted by some corrupt electoral officials, but they should know am the President, but also contestant representing a group of Ugandans and therefore I won’t allow the will of my people to be overpowered,” Museveni said.
Museveni’s latest revelation counters the opposition claims that have been accusing the electoral commission of conniving with the incumbent to manipulate the electoral processes in his favor. Recently Museveni kicked out key EC officials from offices over unclear circumstances that up to now, the public can only speculate about the real reasonsw.

On thereother hand, Museveni empowered Ugandans with hope saying that scientists are in the final touches to develop the COVID-19 vaccine which he said was delayed over crucial processes and purchasing of equipments.
Meanwhile, a couple of countries globally have already developed COVID-19 vaccines among them including the USA, China, and Russia one of the first biggest shipments of coronavirus vaccine globally.
In the same vein, more than 12.4 million doses of coronavirus vaccines have been shipped to US, states, but just over 2.5 million people received shots as of Wednesday, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

In addition, China’s health authorities have approved another Covid vaccine from state-owned Sinopharm for general use on the population, the government has announced.
Health officials said vulnerable groups would be prioritized ahead of the general population. Key groups have already been receiving vaccines under emergency approvals, including about a million receiving the Sinopharm vaccine.
