Eriksen Set To Quit Spurs As Relationship With Daniel Levy Split

By Brian Bariyo Tumuramye

Tottenham have been left in the dark over the future of Christian Eriksen after the relationship between his agent and Daniel Levy broke down.

Eriksen has entered the final year of his contract with Spurs and as things stand will be able to leave the club for nothing next summer.

Tottenham have been desperate to get the 27-year-old tied down to a new 200,000 but so far the midfielder has shown little sign of wanting to stay.

According to reports, the club is now completely unsure of Eriksen’s future because chairman Levy is no longer speaking with the player’s agent.

It is claimed Levy has not talked with Martin Schoots for some time, and that has increased Mauricio Pochettino’s concerns about the possibility that one of his best players is about to leave.

Eriksen made it clear he wants another challenge

The international transfer window does not close until September 2, and Spurs know they are vulnerable to a bid coming in for the Dane.

Eriksen made it clear at the end of last season he was open to the idea of a new challenge, and it is suggested he has his heart set on a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona.

There is still time for those clubs to come in with a late bid for the playmaker – and the problem for Spurs is that because relationships with the agent are now strained, they are unaware of any moves behind the scenes

Pochettino is bristling with frustration at what has been going on at the club over the summer, with the Eriksen situation one of the biggest problems.

The midfielder has started just one game this season as a result, and was on the bench for last week’s disappointing 1-0 defeat at home to Newcastle.

After the match, Pochettino suggested he had never known a more unsettling start to a season than the current one, a clear indication the playing side is starting to be affected.

With a fully focused Eriksen available, he would be a certainty to start, but that appears to not have been the case this season.

And the club are already seeing themselves losing ground in the Premier League as the uncertainty starts to filter through on match days.
