Former UKI (Sleeping Baby) boss Jinesh Kumar Shantilal Majithia, age 64, who passed away on Thursday morning, 20th February, 2020, at Nakasero Hospital in Kampala will be cremated tomorrow Sunday 23rd Feb 2020, the Family has said.
According to Jinesh’s young brother and co-director Andy Majithia, his late brother’s body will arrive at their home in Bukoto at around 1:30pm from the Aghakan mosque mortuary in Old Kampala, where it’s being kept now, then later, body will be transported to Hindu Cremation Grounds in Naguru and cremation services will immediately begin at 3pm.
After the cremation services, there will be prashad services at their home in Bukoto(Former NSSF Houses Bukoto 3A) starting from 7:00pm which is expected to be attended by family members and their close friends.
Jinesh Kumar Shantilal Majithia was the proprietor of Sleeping Baby (UKI Ltd.), 4zee Fashions along Bukoto Street plot36 and Suprima Industries in Kenya.
Jinesh will be remembered among others, as a Ugandan with Indian origin who had a strong presence in the community and would connect very easily with the local community.
He was also a business role model to many especially the local investors.
We have learnt that some of the former UKI staff headed by the CEO of this very on-line newspaper Andrew Irumba, Magoola Ambrose proprietor of Eastern plastics Ltd, Mary Musanya prominent city accountant working with Watertech services Ltd, among others are have since camped at their home in Bukoto to grieve with the family.
According to close family sources, Jinesh has been sick for some time and had since been admitted in Nairobi, but was flown back into the country last week to celebrate his son’s birthday.
Unfortunately, the sickness became more acute whilein Uganda before he was rushed to Nakasero Hospital, where he breathed his last.
Jinesh has been battling kidney related complications for over 15yrs, the source revealed.
“In fact,this forced his only wife Fauzia to donate to him one of her kidneys in order to save his life, about 10 years ago,” source further divulged.
“Remember years back he flew to India with his wife Fauzia Majithia who donated to him one of her kidneys to save his life when he was extremely ill. Currently his wife has one kidney since then,” one of his former employees revealed on condition of anonymity told this reporter.
Jinesh owned UKI with his younger brother Andy Majithia which was started by their late father who passed away many ago before they took over from him. RIP
