By Peter Ssebulime

The opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has condemned president Museveni over threatening the Electoral Commission (EC).

On Sunday, while presiding over a women’s function at Hotel Africana in Kampala President Yoweri Museveni expressed displeasure with the Electoral Commission, which he blamed for grossly mismanaging recent elections.

FDC’s president Patrick Oboi Amuruiat, while addressing a weekly press conference on Monday at the party’s Headquarters in Najjanakumbi, he said that it was bad thing and intended only to threaten EC to start giving result favouring his party.

POA added that EC officials must not accept such statements because they were appointed to work for Ugandans although it’s Museveni who gives them jobs.

Meanwhile, the opposition Forum for democratic change (FDC) has accused president Museveni for failing preparations for the much anticipated National Dialogue.

The Inter-Religious Council of Uganda (IRCU) recently started meeting different stakeholders including political parties in the country, to consult about the forthcoming national dialogue.

The FDC party Chairman Wasswa Birigwa while addressing the media at the party headquarters on Monday  said that ever since president Museveni was consulted on whether himself and his party, the NRM are willing to participate in the dialogue they have never given a positive answer to that effect.

Birigwa added that it was not good and could lead to more violence among Ugandans as many hold grudges against each other.

He called upon president Museveni to reflect on the importance of national dialogue to save country.
