Kampala: The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has expelled former party Chairperson of the Women’s League Hon. Ingrid Turinawe for allegedly defying the party constitution and stood as independent candidates after a defeat in part primaries.

The party’s iconic hero Turinawe has been expelled with Winnie Babihuga, and Darius Tweyambe by the party Secretary General quoting Article 12(d) of their constitution that restricts members from standing as independents.
Mafabi in the statement warned that it is not only about expulsion, but the trio should immediately stop using the FDC sign and colours otherwise they disqualified by the electoral commission.

As per Article 12(d) (CESSATION) if a member joins another party or in an election, stands as an independent ceases to be a member of FDC.
Therefore the following are NOT members.
1.Ms Ingrid Turinawe Kamatenet
2 Ms Winnie Babihuga
3. Mr Tweyambe Darius
The FDC Flag bearers in these areas are;
1 Dr Wallen Nuwagaba Tumwine-Rukungiri Municipality
2 Hon.5etty Muzanira-Woman MP Rukungiri
3.Mr Charles Makuru-Mayor Rurungiri Municipality
4 Hon.Fred TuryamuhwezaRujumbura Constituency
5.Mr Namanya Naboth -Rubabo County

The FDC members and Party structures of Rukungiri are only to solicit support for FDC candidate.
Any member of the Party who campaigns for an independent or otherwise shall be dismissed from the Party.
The independent candidates should immediately stop using the FDC sign and colours otherwise we shall advise the Electoral commission to disqualify them.
The entire public is hereby informed that these independent candidates are not members of FDC and have no moral authority to act on behalf of FDC.
As members of FDC, we are committed to the struggle to liberate our Country so that we have a country where everyone is equal.
