Finally: NUP Rescues Troubled Lumbuye From Turkey Prison

The latest from the National Unity Platform (NUP) opposition political party is that its pro-claimed blogger Fred Kajjubi Lumbuye has been released from Turkey prison where he has slept for months.

The news has been confirmed by the party member dubbed opposition’s Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs- Nkuyingi Mawada who says;

“Our lead lawyers in Turkey have today formally confirmed to us that Lumbuye Fred was released from administrative detention yesterday, Monday. Essentially Lumbuye is now out of prison and free.”

“Lawyers briefed us that in spite of his release, the non concluded cases will remain ongoing and legal team in Turkey remain committed as it has been to logically conclude all such legal details,” he added.

Lumbuye was arrested in August on unclear charges. It was alleged that he was picked by unknown gunmen from his home in Turkey.

Meanwhile, NUP leader Robert Kygulanyi Ssentamu has also confirmed the news saying;

”I am very glad that after several months in detention, political activist Fred Kajubi Lumbuye was yesterday released from jail in Turkey. I am very grateful to the legal team, our diaspora leadership and all Ugandans who did everything to see that he gets his freedom.#WeAreRemovingaDictator.”

News about his arrest caused a stir on social media where many accused the Ugandan Government of having a hand in it which the Government trashed.
