Five MPs,Two From NRM, Cross To Bobi Wine’s NUP

Kampala: The freshest party on the block, National Unity Platform (NUP) seems to be gradually adding to it’s numbers in the political wave of crossovers ahead of 2021 general elections.

The legislators who previously subscribed to the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) and those who have been Independent candidates were on Monday morning initiated at the NUP party headquarters in Kamwokya.

Among these include MP Kasanda County Hon.Patrick Nsamba Oshabe (NRM), MP Manjiya county John Baptiste Nambeshe (NRM), MP Mityana Municipality Hon.Francis Zaake (independent), Busujju County MP David Kalwanga (Independent) and Latif Ssebaggala MP Kawempe North also was independent.

Kasanda County North MP Nsamba described the NRM party chairperson President Museveni as a dictator and and called on fellow members from NRM to follow him into NUP.

“We are going to change Uganda and we are not going to use guns. If you are tired of what you see happening, take a decision like I have done, join our struggle, and let’s send the dictator to rest,” Nsamba said.

While welcoming the new members, Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi, the president, National Unity Platform, said it is high time that all Ugandans who feel dissatisfied with the leadership of President Yoweri Museveni join them.

NUP in the same event welcomed other leaders at different levels including mayors and councilors including the Nakawa mayor, Ronald Balimwezo among others

At the conclusion of the event, Kyagulanyi handed over NUP party cards to the legislators and Ronald Balimwezo, the Nakawa Division Mayor, Ali Muryanyama, Makindye Division and their Kawempe Division counterpart, Emmanuel Serunjongi Oweddembe.
