Former URA Boss Doris Akol Scoops Juicy Job At IMF

Kampala: The latest landing on our desk indicates that the former Commissioner General of the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Doris Akol has scooped a juicy job at International Monetary Fund (IMF) where she is going to be serving as Technical Assistance Advisor.

Akol who is a lawyer and administrator, following her graduation from the Law Development Centre in 1994, spent one year at Price Waterhouse Coopers, at their Kampala offices before joining URA in 1995 as a Legal Officer.

From 2012 until 2014, Doris Akol was the Commissioner for Legal Affairs and Board Matters at the Uganda Revenue Authority. In that capacity, she also served as the Company’s Legal Secretary.

In October 2014, she was appointed Commissioner general at URA replacing Allen Kagina, who retired after two consecutive five-year terms at the helm of the URA.

In 2020, Akol was ousted and replaced by John Musinguzi Rujoki who is still serving Ugandans in that office.
