The police in conjunction with the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF) have arrested four military personnel over allegations that they have information about the murder of one of their colleagues.

Spy Uganda has learnt that the arrested officers are attached to Magamaga Cantonment barracks and army have been arrested in connection with the death of Lance Corporal RA 218630 Joel Cherukut, 35.

The quartet’s arrest came after the body of Lance Corporal Cherukut, who was on course at the College of Logistics and Engineering [COLE], Magamaga barracks, was found lying near a railway line in Magamaga Town Council in Mayuge District with his right arm missing.

However, when the four officers were asked how their colleague’s body ended up at the railway yet he was supposed to be with them they gave contradictory statements which prompted detectives to recommend their arrest, such that they can help with with investigations.
