Victoria University’s 9th graduation ceremony turned into an emotional celebration of life and legacy as friends, family, and the entire university community paid heartfelt tribute to the late Rajiv Ruparelia, the institution’s former Managing Director and a driving force behind its transformation.

Rajiv, remembered for his visionary leadership and philanthropic spirit, was celebrated for his immense contribution to education and youth empowerment. During the ceremony, emotional speeches poured in from students, staff, and friends who shared touching testimonies of how Rajiv’s generosity and mentorship had changed countless lives.

Under his stewardship at Victoria University, Rajiv introduced scholarship initiatives that opened doors for hundreds of underprivileged students to pursue quality education. Many of those beneficiaries were among the graduates, their success stories serving as a living testament to his selfless commitment to uplifting young people.

In honour of his legacy, his father, Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, announced 100 new scholarships for Victoria University graduates, a gesture that mirrors Rajiv’s lifelong mission of creating opportunities for the less privileged.

A poignant moment came when Dr. Sudhir received a framed portrait of Rajiv, presented as a symbol of his lasting impact on the university community. The hall erupted in applause as emotional tributes echoed through the auditorium, celebrating a man whose vision continues to guide the institution’s progress.

Victoria University Vice Chancellor Dr..Lawrence Muganga and faculty members hailed Rajiv as a true architect of transformation, a man who believed in empowering the youth through education, innovation, and humanity.

As graduates marched proudly across the stage, there was a shared sense that Rajiv’s spirit lived on in every success story born of the university he helped shape.

“Rajiv’s dream was to make education a bridge to opportunity for all,” Vice Chancellor Dr.Muganga noted. “Today, that dream continues to inspire us.”
