Coming into this game, NEC were unbeaten having won three and drawn one but Kitara comfortably beat them 2-0 to two points clear on the table ahead of Mbarara City.

The visitors were reduced to 10 men when Derrick Ssekiranda was sent off for a dangerous challenge on Kitara player Erick Muber in the 30th minute one of the big factors that changed the game.

Edson Agondeze broke the deadlock for the Royals before David Kasaija sealed it with the second goal to make it 2-0 in the 81st minute.

Coach Mark Twinamasiko’s team are now top with 13 points and a loss pushes NEC to third place while Mbarara City are second after overcoming Kataka FC 3-1 at Kakyeka Stadium.

Elsewhere, Jinja North United collected their second consecutive away win against Soroti City FC. The game ended 2-1 in favor of the visitors.

Meanwhile, Ndejje University shared spoils with Calvary in a goalless draw at Bombo Military Barracks grounds.

And finally, Police FC edged Kyetume 1-0 at home while Luweero United picked up a win against Lugazi FC.
