FUFA Big League: NEC FC’s Winning Streak Continues As Booma Secures First Win

Table leaders NEC football club extended their unbeaten run and winning streak to three in three as they overcame Ndejje University FC on Tuesday at Bombo Military Barracks grounds in the FUFA Big League.

Ndejje University opened the score in as early as the fifth minute thanks to Samuel Nsubuga from the spot but Derrick Ssekiranda’s strike leveled matters for the diehards towards the interval.

Both teams came back for the last 45 minutes determined and pressing for more goal until the visitors found the back of the net in the stoppage time through Steven Nyainga. NEC stay at the top with nine points and Ndejje University FC remain winless after match day three.

Elsewhere, Masindi based Booma FC secured their first win of the campaign after a hard fought victory against Luweero United away from home.

Captain Denis Omedi’s brace and a late win of Malish Jamal’s fist half goal was enough to hand victory to the Tukyate boys. Luweero United’s goals were scored by Isaac Balyejusa and Gabriel Eragu.

Meanwhile, Uganda Cranes striker Patrick Henry Kaddu continues to cause havoc to the defenders as he scored his seventh goal in three matches. Kaddu netted a brace on Tuesday as his side Kitara FC defeated Jinja North FC 3-1 at Kigaaya primary school grounds. The other goals was scored by Edson Agondeze  while Dickson Matama scored for Jinja North United.

In other encounter of FUFA Big League, Police FC edged Kataka FC 1-0 at Kavuma recreational ground. Herman Wasswa Nteza’s 47th minute goal was enough to handle the corps their second win of the campaign.

Elsewhere, Calvary FC beat Kyetume 2-1 at Midigo Primary School,  Mbarara City cruised past Lugazi FC 3-1 at Kakyeka Stadium, Northern Gateway FC thumped Soroti City FC 3-0 at Soroti Stadium and finally Adjumani TC FC shared spoils with Kaaro Karungi 1-1 at Paridi stadium.
