FUFA Drum: Ankole secures bragging rights after beating Buganda

Ankole Province secured all the bragging rights over Buganda after leaving it late with all the three points at Mityana playground yesterday in a fairly packed stadium.

Livingston Mbabazi’s side looked more superior when Seiri Aligumaho scored on the 70th minute making it all worse for Buganda province upto the 90th minute.

In other matches played yesterday, Teso province resurrected with a stunning win over Kigezi province in a fully packed Kongunga High School playground in Bukedea district.

Goals from Isaac Ogwang and Solomon Okwalinga were enough to seal a 2-0 win.

Having initially lost to Bukeddi and drawn with Bugisu, Teso now have four points from their opening three games. For Kigezi, they are bottom of Group D having managed only a single point so far.

Last year’s finalists West Nile lost their second home game to Acholi at Green Light Stadium Arua 2-0 with Vipers SC’s Tito Okello and URA’s Hudu Mulikyi scoring in the 44th and 58th minutes respectively.

Bunyoro came from behind through Peter Lomoro in the 58th minute counselling out Ivan Pulkol’s 29th minute for Karamoja to share spoils in a one-all stalemate at Boma grounds games.

Edgar Bwogi and Isaac Kisujju scored for Bukedi and Bugisu respectively when both sides shared spoils at Boma grounds Butaleja.

On Saturday, KCCA FC midfielder Allan Okello was the star of the show as he led his Lango side to a 6-1 victory over Sebei in one of the three FUFA Drum matches played on Saturday.

Okello who was first reported to have left the country for trials but it was later learnt that he had gone to Kenya so as to conduct his Visa interview, before returning to play the Drum game.

On the day, Okello scored three goals and was awarded the Man of the Match accolade for his contributions in the game as Lango registered their second victory of the competition.

Lango’s other goals were scored by URA FC’s Joachim Ojera who helped himself to a brace and Omedi Denis.

For Sebei, Simuyu Eric struck their consolation on a day that they were totally outplayed.
