FUFA Unveils Full List Of Elite Referees For 2021/2022 Season

Kampala: The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has released a list of nominated Uganda elite referees who are set to undergo a mandatory physical fitness test ahead of the 2021/2022 season.

Fifty-eight match officials are expected to be present at the Makerere University Sports Ground on Saturday 28th August 2022. These tests will culminate in the nomination of the 2022 FIFA badge holders.

According to the FUFA Referees’ Manager Sam Egesa, the physical fitness tests are made of a series of activities which include the selection of the names, medical checkup and physical running.

‘’A series of activities are done ahead of the real physical fitness tests and these include a selection of the names, medical checkups which is done one the eve and the actual running plus walking which take place on the day of the physical fitness tests,” said Egesa.

The retired FIFA Referee also added that the physical fitness test is meant to check for the Referee’s mental toughness, endurance and fitness.

The test will be under keen supervision of fitness Instructor Ali Kalyango, who will be assisted by Rahman Kizito and Ndawula Shaban.
