Kampala: She Corporate earned a perfect start with a slim win over Olila High School as games in Group B of the 2020/21 FUFA Women Super League started on Monday.
Noeline Namiro scored the lone goal of the game with a well taken strike direct from the free-kick.
The decisive moment arrived five minutes from the break with Namiro’s curling effort beating goalkeeper Eglas Ajumo.
The game was evenly balanced with either side creating chances but were both blunt on the day.
Grace Aluka who was making her debut for Olila High School nearly opened the scores with a ferocious strike outside the area but goalkeeper Vanessa Karungi who had moved off her line was quick enough to save.
In the second half, Olila looked the better side as they searched for the equaliser but did not have efficiency in the final third.
She Corporate lost right back Wilmer Nantumbwe through injury and her place was taken by Cissy Nantongo.
They also made further changes bringing on Winnie Nabbale and Janat Thungu for Nantege and Atim respectively.
Action resumes on Tuesday with Olila High School taking on Lady Doves while She Corporate will be up against UCU Lady Cardinals.
