Renowned social activist Frank Gashumba, whose
father Mzee Gashumba Snr passed away on Sunday, has released a tentative burial
programme for his deceased old man.
Mzee Gashumba passed away at Nsambya Hospital after
losing a battle to cancer.
According to the programme released by Gashumba, the deceased will be laid to rest on Wednesday September 4th, 2019 at 2:00PM at his ancestral home in Villa Maria Buddy, Masaka.
The burial ceremony will be preceded by a requiem
mass that will start at midday at Kaliro Villa Maria church in Masaka,
Buddu.
While on his sickbed, several prominent
Ugandans, among them Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) stalwart Dr. Kiiza
Besigye visited him.
While announcing Mzee Gashumba’s death, city
lawyer Dennis Nyombi wrote thus on Facebook; “With sadness I’ve just learnt of
the death of My friend’s father, Gashumba Snr., father to Frank Gashumba,
Innocent Kasumba, Jjeje Semanda and my dear Veronica. (eltiempolatino.com I share the plight with u
all my brothers n sister.”
Gashumba also went to his Facebook page and announced
the death of his dad thus; My dad has just passed away! Rip soldier”
Gashumba’s great-great grand family relocated
from Rwanda to Uganda in the 1923 and have since lived in Uganda.
