Kampala-Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) National Chairman Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has designated city tycoon Dr Sudhir Ruparelia a Patriotic Officer number, placing him among the top most fresh list of prominent Ugandans recognized by Gen. Muhoozi’s political pressure group.
According to a notice issued by PLU General Secretary Hon Twalla Fadil, Tycoon Sudhir has been assigned PO/198.
The notice states that Gen Muhoozi has awarded the listed members “patriotic officer numbers” and congratulates the new officers, urging them to serve with “diligence, loyalty, and unwavering commitment to PLU and our Motherland.”
Sudhir, one of Uganda’s most prominent businessmen and philanthropists, is listed alongside several other high-profile figures who have been given PLU numbers.
Among the notable names on the list are:
- PO/198 – Dr Sudhir Ruparelia
- PO/195 – Hon. Minister Sarah Nakawuki
- PO/202 – Hon. Kinoberе Herbert Tom
- PO/229 – Dr Gilbert Tuhaire
- PO/243 – Prophet Vincent Museveni
- PO/244 – Mr Jackson Tusumisiime
- PO/250 – Mr Ronald Bills Agaba
- PO/256 – Mr Charles Cherukut
- PO/273 – Eng. Okanya Boniface
- PO/287 – Mr Geoffrey Beinomugisha Kukunda
- PO/300 – H.E. Dr Gilbert Bukenya
The list runs from PO/183 to PO/300, covering 118 newly designated Patriotic Officers.
Sudhir’s inclusion is particularly notable given his longstanding prominence in Uganda’s business, investment and philanthropic circles. His PO/198 designation effectively places one of the country’s wealthiest businessmen within the growing network of individuals associated with Gen Muhoozi’s PLU.
While the PLU notice does not spell out individual reasons for each appointment, the recognition comes amid increasing efforts by the group to build a broad network of political, business, religious and civic figures around its patriotic agenda. #TheSpy
