The presidential adviser on Special Operations Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has sent Lt.Col.Edith Nakalema, the head of the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, warm birthday greetings.
Lt. Col. Nakalema, who has done a great job at fighting corruption among civil servants, celebrated her 42nd birthday last week.
As a way of celebrating her life on earth and all the great things the gallant Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF) officer has done for the country, Gen. Muhoozi tweeted thus on Monday morning; “A belated happy birthday to my sister Lt.Colonel @edthnaka. May Almighty God continue to bless you in your important work for the country Edith.”
Meanwhile, in our publication last week about Nakalema marking her birthday, we shared a picture of her, in which she was posing with a team of staff from the Anti-Corruption Coalition Uganda (ACU), which was portrayed as a breach of the Ministry of Health Guidelines and Presidential Directives on Social Distancing to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
However, the gallant UPDF officer, who is also National Resistance Army (NRA) Bush-war heroine, has since gotten back to us and cleared the air about the said photo, by revealing that it was taken last year, after Anti-Corruption Coalition staff decided to thank her for the great work she has done at fighting corruption and boosting their mandate. They took the photo as souvenir for their organisation, which is mandated with fighting corruption in Uganda. We continue to wish Afande Nakalema great days ahead as she strives to make Uganda a corruption free banana republic.
