Gen Sabiiti Muzeyi, the former Deputy Inspector General of Police and current General Manager of Luwero Industries (a subsidiary of the National Enterprise Corporation), is reportedly out of danger and steadily recovering after a serious road accident on Saturday evening.

The accident occurred along the Masaka Road as Gen Muzeyi travelled with his family from Kiruhura District. According to eyewitnesses, the Toyota Land Cruiser he was reportedly driving rammed into a Fuso truck, leaving the vehicle badly mangled on the driver’s side.

Following the crash, Gen Muzeyi and his wife were airlifted to Kampala aboard a UPDF helicopter and admitted to Nakasero Hospital.

Family sources say both are responding well to treatment.

“He has received treatment and is now out of danger, already recovering steadily,” said family friend Simon Kaheeru. “The family members he was travelling with are all okay and bearing up well. Give thanks to God. This is a miracle.”
Gen Muzeyi had been returning with his family from the giveaway ceremony of President Yoweri Museveni’s granddaughter, Nsasiirwe Keinembabazi Karugire.
