Luweero: The police in Luweero district are hunting for goons who kidnapped and defiled a four-year-old girl, before dumping her in a pit latrine.

The victim, who is middle-class pupil at J&J Nursery and Primary at Sambwe village in Nyimbwa sub-county, Luweero district,
is currently hospitalized at Bombo General Military Hospital, nursing trauma and several injuries
Sylvia Nabirye, the Victim’s mother says that “My child was discovered in a pit latrine at Orthodox Primary School after she went missing for three days.” Nabirye says her daughter went missing on Saturday after she had left her to play with other children as she attended an association savings meeting. Nabirye added that “We reported a case of a missing child at Ndejje Police post. On Tuesday pupils of Orthodox Primary School heard cries inside the toilet and alerted the local leaders, who went to the pit and realised that it was my daughter crying.”

Nabirye explains that on being pulled out of the pit, the child was bleeding in the private parts. She was later rushed to Bombo General Hospital where she is undergoing treatment. However, Bombo General Military Hospital is yet to release a report on the medical condition of the child and administrators declined to be interviewed. However, the Luweero District Resident Commissioner Phoebe Namulindwa says that a medical examination has revealed that the child’s hymen was ruptured following a forceful sexual act. Namulindwa says that it’s believed that the suspects after defiling the minor, feared arrest and dumped the child in the toilet. Rebecca Ayeta, the Acting Luweero District Police Commander, says that two suspects who include an unidentified person who was seen riding the child on a motorcycle on the day she went missing have been arrested to help with investigations.
