Kampala: Re-knowned ‘self-made’ Catholic clergy, Father Anthony Musaala, seems to have gotten at the tip of his annoyance with this regime, only waiting to burst. He clearly has no more kind words for President Museveni and his government that ousted past ‘notorious leaders’ like Idi Amin and Milton Obote, saying that actually, all the regimes so far are the same, full of violence, plutocracy, murder and torture of innocent Ugandans. Infact, without mincing words,or bothering what happened to his idol Janan Luwum when he spoke the truth to the grave, Musaala, openly said this current Gov’t by Ssabakwanyi Gen.Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni, son to a peasant and cattle keeper, the late Amos Kaguta, is more brutal than all other past governments combined! According to him, the only difference is in the dates of execution of their victims, and the methodology, probably because of the times.
Father Musaala, via his Facebook account released a statement that has since gone viral saying the regimes only differ in the “degree of their lack of authentic democracy but otherwise, they are all plutocracies, rule by the wealthy plus the military, with a decorative sprinkling of democratic processes.”
The man of God is also perplexed that, unfortunately,all falling Governments like the past regimes never see it coming, because too much power block their noses,ears and eyes and always taken by surprise! ”What is most intriguing, is that these regimes are the most unaware of such a moment. They just never see it coming….”

“HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF?
African regimes are essentially the same, they differ only in the degree of their lack of authentic democracy.
Essentially they are plutocracies, rule by the wealthy plus the military, with a decorative sprinkling of democratic processes.
The military and other security organs are kept in the pockets of the regime with the aid of citizen’s taxes, in order for it to maintain power.
So in Africa power does not belong to the people, but to a rich clique, and to the army.
‘People power’ arises when the excesses wrought by these regimes is no longer acceptable to a majority, and when the misrule of citizens by a small number of people, is as intolerable as it is unsustainable.
Elections even if rigged by these regimes, can still be useful for ‘people power’. When Moi’s candidate for the presidency in Kenya was defeated at the 2002 polls, it was despite massive rigging by KANU party, which had never lost an election.
So however defective, elections should be used, and results defended by the people. In any case, whether elections are won or lost, the people’s ascendancy to true democracy and freedom cannot be turned back.
The pro-people forces include people from ALL walks of life including soldiers, police, clergy the elite, and others who are hidden deep inside the belly of the regime.
At the right historical moment, they all join forces and cause the anti-people regime to fall and disappear without a trace, into the rubbish bins of history.
Has this historical moment come for Uganda or not yet? Is Uganda at a similar moment in its history, as when Obote and Amin were removed never to return?
What is most intriguing, is that these regimes are the most unaware of such a moment. They just never see it coming….”
