Humura safaris Uganda, one of Uganda’s biggest tour and travel companies has injected Shs 46, 300,000 (Forty six million three hundred thousand) into the 7th edition of Miss Tourism Uganda.

The sponsorship was unveiled during a press conference held at Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities head offices in Kampala on Thursday.

Humura is a tours and travel company based in Uganda that operates within the East African region mainly Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, DRC-Congo and Rwanda.

The Director Humura safaris, Sam Asasiira said they were honored to be part of miss tourism Uganda and the company was looking forward to working with the industry for a long time.

He added that the company was also going to equip the girls with tour marketing strategies in order to help them acquire the tourism knowledge.

“We picked interest in miss tourism Uganda because it shares the same goal like us, to promote domestic tourism and that is what we are aiming at and we saw no better way to promote tourism than to partner with miss tourism Uganda. 
We also want to equip the contestants with skills they need to promote Uganda as a destination like tour guide skills , product selling and marketing,” he said.

“Am honored to be part of this team and we are looking forward to working with the ministry of tourism for a long time,” he added.

Allan Kanyinke Bwette the CEO Miss Tourism Uganda on the other hand said he was honored to receive the package and also welcome Humura as the main tour company supporting the industry.

He also announced the coming of Miss Tourism World and Miss Tourism Nigeria to Uganda for two weeks to sell and market Uganda’s tourism sites . 

The 7th edition of Miss Tourism Uganda, under the theme ‘African pride” kicked off on 10th June 2019 with a glamorous media launch that was held at Sheraton hotel.

This will climax with a with a glamorous show at Kampala Serena on the 4th October 2019 where 24 contestants from 12 different regions of Uganda will represent their respective regions i.e. Ankole, Buganda, Teso, West Nile, Busoga, Tooro, Bunyoro, Northern Uganda, Karamoja, Eastern Region-Mbale, Kigezi, Rwenzori.

The vision of Miss Tourism Uganda is to promote, honor & advance the position of women in promoting Uganda’s Tourism destinations that offer a wide range of unique and adventurous Tourism experience both locally and internationally.

To be able to fulfill the Vision, Miss Tourism Uganda has partnered with both the government and private sector for the successful realization of its vision, government bodies include; Ministry of tourism Wildlife and antiquities and Uganda Wildlife Authority, Uganda Wildlife Education centre and Kampala capital city authority. The private institutions include Uganda Tourism Association and Kampala Serena hotel.

Miss Tourism is doing regional campaigns in order to extend tourism experience to the people right from the grass roots and lay a platform for the locals to embrace tourism as part of their business and responsibility.

As of today, 4 regions (Teso, Busoga, Tooro, Karamoja) have so far crowned their regional representatives/ambassadors who will represent their respective regions at the nationals.

After the regional activations and selecting the 36 regional ambassadors, they will officially arrive for boot camp on 9th September at Uganda Wildlife Education centre.

On 17th September 2019 Miss Tourism Uganda will be ushering in Miss Tourism World 2018, Miss Tourism Nigeria and Miss Tourism Croatia who will grace the event and do an excursion of Uganda’s tourism attractions. an accessible web community an accessible web community
