Kampala: The National Unity Platform party presidential candidate Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine has yet again set another record of not only being the first Ugandan musician to appear on the ballot paper for the top seat in the country but also the first politician to campaign in a bullet-proof jacket.

Bobi Wine’s decision to change his dress code follows ugly scenes that happened this week where his head of security and music producer were injured by rubber bullets while he was set to campaign at a rally in Jinja before he survived a couple of bullets in Kayunga district.

“You have seen enough of Kyagulanyi, now let me give you some Bobi Wine. When they shot at my car, many people thought I should halt the campaign, I said I am a double-edged sword, I am Kyagulanyi but I am also a “bad man”  Bobi Wine now I come to you as Bobi Wine,” he said while campaigning in Kibuku.

It should be noted that about three weeks ago, over 54 people were killed by security forces in awake of protests that had spontaneously broken out in different parts of the country to challenge the arrest of Bobi Wine who was arrested in Luuka district under the command of DPC Frank Mwesigwa.

The saddest bit of the 2021 polls according to political pundits-is that it is the first that will not be supervised by the E.U and on top of this, NUP adds that the COVID-19 pandemic is itself giving the violent armed forces leverage to “kill citizens in the guise of preventing the spread of the virus.”
