Kampala: The Democratic Party (DP) presidential candidate Norbert Mao is on the spot after a seemingly heartbroken and worried man based in London recorded a video accusing him of being too close to his wife Beatrice Kayanja during the ongoing presidential campaigns.

Martin Kayanja, a Ugandan based in Europe made a video stating how Mao’s closeness to his wife makes him uncomfortable but also jeopardizes his respect as a Muganda man further urging him (Mao) to use other women in DP for his political activities other than Mrs.Kayanja.

In the same video, Kayanya noted that his wife left for Uganda in March but unfortunately due to the Coronavirus outbreak, his wife had plans to return to the UK but she could not because of the lockdown.

Mr. Kayanja goes on to lament that it is during that period that his wife (Beatrice) met Mao and then suddenly expressed an interest to run for the office of Kampala Mayor.

According to Kayanja, his wife was eventually given a DP card to run for the position of Mayor and from that time their closeness has since given him sleepless nights in London thus coming out to express his dissatisfaction with the DP principle.

In the same video, Kayanja is humbly begging Mao to give his wife space to concentrate on her marriage and kids adding that he still loves her and the kids miss her presence in their lives.

According to sources, the couple is legally married with 4 Children who are currently in London with their father.

On the other hand, Mao is now a single man after Justice Godfrey Namundi dissolved their 16 years of marriage on May 27, 2019, after the wife Naomi Achieng filed a petition accusing Mao of being cruel and deserting from his own home.

Although Achieng sought divorce on allegations of cruelty, the judge ruled that there was no evidence adduced to support that Mao was cruel towards her.

“It is evident that the marriage between Achieng and Mao has irretrievably broken down. It is accordingly a foregone conclusion that both parties want a divorce and their marriage cannot be redeemed,” he said.
