Just In:Stanbic Bank Closes Branch In Kampala Over COVID-19

Kampala: Stanbic Bank Uganda has temporarily closed one of its branches in Kampala after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

In a public notice released on Tuesday evening, the bank advised customers intending to use Stanbic William Street Branch to try other nearby branches.

The statement reads;

“Stanbic Bank Uganda would like to inform the public that an employee at our William Street Branch tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently undergoing treatment.

All exposed colleagues in the branch are going through tests and have been self-quarantined for 14 days and contact tracing and testing is underway.

Stanbic William Street Branch has been temporarily closed for any possible further spread of infection and will be reopened once we have performed disinfection protocols in accordance with standard operating procedures.

Customers may be inconvenienced, we encourage you to utilise our digital platforms including digital banking, and our banking app where possible or access banking services within the area, and customers can visit our Stanbic Branches at Nakivubo Branch Plot 31 William Street, Kampala Aponye Branch- Plot 8 Burton Street, Kampala.

We appeal to all our customers and the general public to continue practicing the right precautions and observe the SOP’s by the ministry of health to curb the spread of infections, protect and save lives. Uganda remains committed in the fight against COVID-19 and together we shall overcome.”
