The Kasasiro boys returned to winning ways thanks to a 4-1 emphatic victory over SC Villa on Friday afternoon.

Goals by Joseph Kafumbe, Erisa Ssekisambu, Mustafa Kizza and Allan Okello did the damage on a day that KCCA reaffirmed their title credentials.

Amir Kakomo scored Villa’s only goal of the day, one that turned out to be a mere consolation victory sees Mike Mutebi’s side climb into third on the log with 29 points from 14 games

The defending champions came into the game on the back of a 2-1 loss to Mbarara City FC, while SC Villa came into the game unbeaten in their last 13 games with their only loss this campaign coming on the opening day of the season.

KCCA will take on Proline FC on Tuesday in their final game of the first round and a win in that particular game will see them move to within four points of leaders Vipers SC who are on 36 points ahead.

Coach Mike Mutebi is known to be strong believer in youth and over the years he continues promote players from KCCA FC’s academy to the senior team.

Joseph Kafumbe, who was only starting his second game, gave the Kasasiro boys the lead inside 10 minutes as he lashed home off a Sam Ssenyonjo pass.

Ssenyonjo, who has scored two goals this season, then headed over a Mustafa Kizza cross before he had a goal ruled out for offside and just before the break, Kizza again crossed for Ssenyonjo who somehow headed wide with the goal at his mercy.

It was not to be Ssenyonjo’s day in front of goal as he headed a Ssekisambu inch-perfect cross surprisingly wide with Keni beaten early in the second half as one youngster was struggling find the back of the net, another did in style.

In the 62nd minute, a long range strike that flew past Keni and into the bottom left corner taken by Kizza, which made it 3-0

With 12 minutes to play, Ssenyonjo once again missed from a pass from Ssekisambu as his weak effort was pushed out for a corner by Keni, moments before Allan Okello’s curling strike rattled the cross bar.

Inside the three additional minutes, Okello lashed onto a Ssenyonjo pass before running through and slotting into the back of the net for KCCA FC’s fourth goal.

SC Villa came into the game unbeaten in their last 13 games with their only loss this campaign coming on the opening day of the season.

They were expected to face a tough afternoon at a stadium where they have lost four of their past five visits and that was indeed the case.

Despite starting well as they contested every bit of possession and tried to take the game to KCCA FC, they conceded due to lazy defending.

Ssekisambu’s cross in the build up to the opener shouldn’t have been allowed to fall for Ssenyonjo but Ibrahim Kibumba mis-judged his header and could not recover in time to close down Kafumbe.

The second goal was also Villa’s own doing as Amir Kakomo lost possession around the area to allow Ssenyonjo play in Ssekisambu and Nicholas Kabonge’s shot from a distance early in the contest was tipped over by Charles Lukwago.

Awori then saw a left-footed strike saved comfortably by Charles Lukwago Kakomo then powerfully headed over an Emma Kalyoowa corner.

The Jogoos were dealt a huge blow early in the second period as David Owori limped off injured and was replaced with Albert Mugisa.

As Villa struggled to break down the Kasasiros, they resorted to long range efforts with Emma Kalyowa forcing Lukwago into a decent save early in the second half before Kakomo shot wide with 9 minutes to play.

Kakomo deflected a Derrick Ndahiro low free kick past Lukwago as Villa pulled one back and SC Villa dropped to 4th on the standings as they remain with 27 points from 15 games.
