The brand new Kampala Capital City Authority football club (KCCA) Headcoach Morley Byekwaso bagged all three points for the Kasasiro boys on his debut overcoming BUL FC 3-0 on Friday at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo in the first game of Star Times Uganda Premier League second round.
Byekwaso was announced KCCA’s head coach early this week following the club’s parting ways with their long-time manager Mike Mutebi.
Filbert Obenchan broke the deadlock for KCCA just seconds to the break following a perfect freekick from Bright Anukani that saw Obenchan jump high to node the ball at the back of the net.
Just a minute into the second half, Charles Lwanga slotted home the second for Byekwaso’s side and that was his eighth goal in 11 games this season.
Byekwaso made his first substitute in the 55th minute replacing Steven Sserwadda with the assistant captain Julius Poloto.
Six minutes after his introduction on the pitch, Poloto rattled the woodwork with a thunderous effort but was just unlucky.
The hosts made a double substitution in the 72nd bringing on Andrew Kigozi and Keziron Kizito replacing Lwanga and Anukani respectively.
Three minutes later, Poloto banged in the third on his return after almost a year out to make 3-0.
After the third goal, the Kasasiro boys started a one-pass display till the end of the 90 to hand Byekwaso his first victory.
Elsewhere, Wakiso Giants shared a 1-1 spoils with Mbarara City at Kabaka Kyabagu sports stadium Wakiso.
While Vipers SC overcame UPDF 2-0 at Bombo Military Barracks grounds in their first match of the second round to return to the top of the table.
The Venoms are tied with URA who will play against Express FC tomorrow on 36 points but the Kitende based side has a higher goal difference.
And finally, Bright Stars beat Kitara FC 3-1 away from home.
