Kira: Police Using K9 Recovers Stolen Number Plates Hidden In Potato Garden

The territorial Police at Kira Division is investigating a case of vandalism and theft that took place in Kitikifumba Village, Kira Municipality. It is alleged that unknown thugs had broken into the home of Franklin Mwongyera and vandalized his motor vehicle, stealing the number plates.

Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga says the area police brought the K9 unit which was able to track for about 1.4 km to a garden of sweet potatoes, where both the front and rear number plates of the vehicle with registration number UBE 021J were recovered and handed back to the owner.

”Investigations are currently ongoing to identify the suspects behind this act of vandalism and theft. We urge the public to provide any information that may lead to the arrest of the culprits,” says Enanga adding; ”We would like to thank the Kira K9 unit for their outstanding performance in recovering the stolen number plates. The K9 unit is a vital tool in our fight against crime and we will continue to utilize their expertise in our operations.”

”We also encourage the public to take necessary precautions to safeguard their property against theft and vandalism. Report any suspicious activities to the nearest Police station. We remain committed to ensuring the safety and security of all members of the public,” adds Enanga.
